How to connect OCS to ServiceNow?

$

Hey all,

We are long time users of the (free) OCS agent and server.   We are starting to look at ServiceNow as a potential ITSM platform and I'd like to see how easy it is to populate the CMDB inside ServiceNow with CIs identified by OCS.

Has anyone done this?  Is there a wall-known process or procedure to do it?

Thanks

Hi,

On the first page, I see 2 machines not seen in more than 30 days but if I click to know which machines nothing appears (they really exist)

Where is the problem ?

In debug mode, I have this error :

Hello, I'm trying create a package that can be sent to multiple computers and be seen on the online web interface.

I'm having troubles figuring out why after, installing the OCS inventory agent for windows and creating the package I'm not seeing my computer on the server. I'm running version 2.4 OCS agent. The package builder is 2.3 and the OCS package that I created is 2.4.

I've never done anything like this before, so I'm probably doing something simple incorrectly.

If you need more information I would be happy to provide what I can, but I'll need detailed instructions because I just don't know this process very well yet.

In short: I'm don't know why I can't see my computer on the OCS inventory web interface.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Erreur d'affichage des stats de télédéploiement

Bonjour,

[Wed Dec 19 10:45:49.396439 2018] [php7:error] [pid 44708] [client 192.168.70.20:55447]

OCS version upgrade from 2.05 to 2.5.x

$

 Hi OCS support team,

We are using OCS for the past few years and we have many devices registered with it and OCS Inventory is handling the device management  ( the version we are using is 2.05) . Now we have planned to go for upgrade to 2.5.x.

To upgrade from 2.0.5 ( version we are using it ) to 2.5 ( latest version released by ocs inventory) following the sequence of upgrade

step 1) upgrade from 2.0.5 to 2.1.x

Step 2)  2.1.x  to 2.2.

Step 3) 2.2.x to  2.3.x

Step 4) 2.3.x to  2.4 and then 2.5.

Outcome:

-  upgrade from 2.05 to 2.1.1 is successful

-  Upgrade from 2.1.x to 2.2 is having some issues due to some database fields are missing from the old version.  For example in the table accountinfo_config , new column added (default_value) which does not  exist in  older version (2.05/2.1.1) due to that ocs reports web console failed to retrieve data.

Can you please suggest the workaround  and other options? to upgrade from 2.05 to 2.5.x ( version to version) with db field changes and without any loss of data

Thanks

Karthik

Hello there,

if I'm searching for more than one software package at the same request I will get no result. But if I'm searching for the same packages in various requests I'll get all computers with the installed ones. Independendtly of wether computer who have the packages are the same.

Has anyone an idea how to make a request for all packages at the same time?

I wrote a comprehensive guide for installing OCS inventory 2.5 on Ubuntu 18.04.1. This includes all the packages which should be installed for PERL modules, PHP modules, and ubuntu package prerequisites.

Where should I post this guide?

Can I submit the guide to OCS Inventory for incorporation on the wiki site?

Dear people, I have a Ocsinventory-Unix-Agent-2.4.2 agent, it works OK but it doesn't execute ipdiscover on its own network segment.

I have installed these required packages:

error after updating server to 2.6 RC

After updating the OCS inventory server 2.5 to version 2.6 RC, I try to access the web console through "http://192.168.137.241/ocsreports" the window remains blank and when I enter chrome it shows the following error " HTTP ERROR 500 "
install everything in the OCS documentation that is found necessary, what could you do to solve the error?

Summary info lost in RC 2.6 version

This info is lost in the new ocs RC 2.6 version because was replaced by the new dashboard page:

Machines in DB xxxx
Machines Inventoried xxxx
Machines contacted today xxx
Machines Inventoried today xxx
Machines not seen in more than 30 day(s) xxx
Number of SNMP devices xxx
Number of non inventoried network interfaces xxxxxx

I wonder if it's possible to include a query of machines not seen in more than 30 days in assets category. It seems not because selecting computer -> last inventory, only specific (not relative) dates are allowed. I mean, you can use: last inventory more than 28 nov/2018 but not last inventory more than NOW() - INTERVAL 30 DAY.

Search function in REST API

I've been trying to get the REST API search function to work as documented here: http://wiki.ocsinventory-ng.org/09.Rest-API/GET-Routes/

My test query is: ocsapi/v1/computers/search?ID=2&start=0&limit=0
It doesn't seem to matter what I put after search? as it just returns a full array of every computer ID in the system. Has anyone else run into this issue? Is the search function implemented correctly in REST?
