2.1.1: Duplicates found but not displayed when pressing on "MAC Address only"

Hello all,

this is a rather old issue I have been having. I'm running a network of around 170 Windows PCs. Initially, I had OCS-NG installed at version 1.x, alongside GLPI. Everything worked fine, including detection of duplicates as well as merging them.

This installation, after various upgrades is now on version 2.1.1. Most of my clients are running 2.1.1.1. Along this upgrade road, at some point the duplicates presented a problem. The server still sees duplicate systems, mainly due to the fact that I am renaming these windows clients.

For example, clicking the "Duplicates" option in web admin, it states currently that 8 systems have a duplicate MAC address ("MAC address only: 8"). And so far, so good. But if I click on the number "8", it doesn't show me the 8 systems that have identical (usually pairs of) MAC addresses. Instead, it shows a "NO RESULT"!

If I display all clients, I can clearly find those with duplicate MAC addresses. Why aren't these displayed when I click on the number "8" above?

The activity log does not help, it is filled with information from clients publishing their status to the server. Nothing is produced when I click on "8".

Can you help me debug this please? I have written about the same issue when it first appeared, but the answer back then was the agent at that time finally ended up being to update the server and clients (which I did). How can I finally solve this? It's driving me nuts. 3 years, and I still can't figure out what's wrong here.
Again, this was not like this from the start. It started happening on a specific OCS-NG version (before 2.0.5.3).

OCS Inventory integration with SAP or Microsoft System Center

Hello,

In the company we have over 300 computers, and do not want to install the OSC Agent to each computer to create an inventory, we would like to have a unified inventory to collect the assets of Microsoft, SAP, Oracle, vmware, etc. Would be the possibility to integrate OCS Server with Microsoft System Center ,the SAP Server, Oracle db...? so that the information could be extracted directly from there...

If it is not possible to automate the process. Could I create an inventory based on downloading information in XML format from System Center and SAP and load it directly into OCS?

AD SSO with release 2.2 ?!

Hi there,

Been an happy user of version 2.1 for some times. So I decided to give a try to the new 2.2 release, but since the upgrade, I'm not able to SSO anymore into OCSInventory :'(

As I did the original setup a long time ago, I re-used those 2 documents:

Any clues on what could go wrong (is there some remnants from 2.1 to cleanup in files or DB)? The only thing that changed since ocss2.1 is my apache2, I was forced to upgrade from 2.2 to 2.4 (but apache2 is working fine for all my others sites & applications). For the rest setup is as follow (and didn't changed):

- Gentoo Linux host OCS Server
- LDAP Active Directory on Win2008 R2

Error HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found ocsinventory

Hi everyone,

I tried to deploy the OCS Agent using the GPO on Active Directory and it worked, the agent it's been installed on my Client (Win10), however the communication with my OCS Server (Windows 2012 + XAMPP) is not working. My firewall is already disabled and I also have communications with the server, but the agent tries to contact an "ocsinventory" directory which doesn't exist on my Apache. I have looked for answers here and all I got was something with "mod_perl" which I guess it's installed.

Looking on Event Viewer on my client side I have these errors:
 

"Service encounter error <OCS Inventory NG Agent encounter an error (exit code is 4 => Failed to talk with Communication Server)>."

"Service encounter error <Failed to load/parse last inventory state>."

I installed this addon of Perl "xampp-win32-perl-addon-5.10.0-2.2.11-pl2-installer"

I am using XAMPP Version: 5.6.14, OCS Server Ver. 2.1.2 and Agent 2.1.0.3

Is there anyway to check if the perl module is working?

Is there a plugin that could send the information to the server of any removable drive connected to it?

Hello,


I have installed the OCS server 2.2 on Linux CentOS 7, the agent installed on the PC is the OCSNG-Windows-Agent-2.1.1.3. I configured deployment functionality, I copied the files on each computer cacerm.pem.

Now, I've done a deployment (a copy of a folder to computers) all OK the file is copied to computers, but when reviewing the statistics package on the server OCS this state do not show any success or failure?

why?

Does OCS change the OCS ID's over time? Or When does OCS chang the Inventory ID?

Explanation:

I figured out that you can use the OCS ID's for deploy an packet to an PC or System instand of selecting via the checkbox. For example: if you got arround 2.000 active systems in your Company and your trying to make changes overtime via selecting a group or an randomly number of PC to make changes whitout make the change to everyone, you have to select every single System via the checkbox or make the change one by one. I found out if you got the OCS ID for each System you can use those ID's to make an instand chang whitout selcecting them which is really time saving!  

In Detail: lets say I have 3 Desktop's and the OCS ID: "D1: 1234 D2: 12345 D3: 123456" Now i want to make an packet deploy to the 3 Desktop's. I'm using the OCS ID and the Deploy Link:

For Example: https/yourserver/ocsreports/index.php?function=pack_search&head=1&idchecked=1234,12345,123456 if i execute the Link the canges are for D1; D2 and D3

Now to my Questions: I got an Excel-list whit arround 2.000 OCS ID's and the PC-Names. I found out that some of the OCS ID change over the past 2 weeks. Now I wounder if OCS changes the ID's automaticly or those any system changing also change the OCS ID's? Or in genarl how those OCS creats the OCS ID's

Deployment problems

Hello, I test deployment feature. I had two warnings first is when i want to activate packages: "WARNING: Can't find information file at https://192.168.255.193/download/1465979537/". Second problem is when i decide to ignore that message and try deploy this package. In logs everything seems to be ok but nothing hapens.

Please help me this features is very important to me.

I inventory all exe files in the softwares section, how to tell with a plugin to remove from the DB is no longer there ?

I inventory all exe files from the PC in the softwares section of the DB. It's working well but if I remove an exe file, the plugin send the xml information and the removed exe is no longer there, but it's not removed from the DB.

Any ideas ?

I modified the scripts below in order to uninstall the "Mozilla Maintenance Service".

I put
Action: Launch
Command: I put the schedule_uninst_mozilla_maintenance.bat to call uninstall_mozilla_maintenance.bat
Priority: 5

When I want create a User (juste for request), no profile User exit.

How to create this profile ?

Pas d'inventaire des agents OCS

Bonjour à tous,

Je déploie actuellement une solution OCS/GLPI sur un server Debian Jessie  sur un parc fonctionnant sur de l'OS Windows (Principalement XP et 7), et je rencontre un problème après le déploiement des agents OCS.

Je vous explique : l'installation du server OCS:GLPI s'est déroulée sans encombres, les interfaces web sont bien accessibles et les accès aux bases de données (Mysql) sont opérationnels. J'ai installer la version 2.0.5 d'OCS server, et je déploie des agents en version 2.1.1.3.

Je fais le déploiement avec l'outil OCS Deploy Tool, télécharger depuis le site officiel, l'installation sur les clients est OK mais une fois ceux ci installés, mon serveur voit bien qu'un l'agent l'a contacté, il créer une entrée d'inventaire, mais ne remonte que la version de l'agent du poste qui l'a contacté ...(Je pourrais fournir une capture d'écran si mon explication n'est pas claire).

Avec wireshark et les logs du server apache, j'ai vu qu'une erreur 500 se produisait à chaque fois que l'agent envoyait ses données, mais je n'ai pas réussi à en savoir plus ...

Désolé d'avance du peu d'informations données dans ce sujet, j'en donnerais au cas par cas suivant les solutions que vous pourriez me proposer ... Je vous avoues que c'est la première fois que je met en place cette solution sur un parc, je sors tout juste de l'école :(

Problème : HTTP Status Code #403

Bonjour,

Depuis plusieurs jours j'ai un problème avec l'agent Windows, il ne communique pas avec le serveur. Le HTTP n'est pas autoriser, et idem pour le HTTPS qui ne fonctionne pas non plus. Je n'est aucune idée de comment résoudre le problème.

Installation multiples de OCS sur un réseau

Bonjour,

Je viens de mettre en place un serveur GLPI (0.90.1) et OCS Inventory Serveur 2.2 sur une machine Debian.

Actuellement, une société extérieure utilise déjà OCS et a déployé (sur un parc de machines Windows XP/7/10) l'agent en version 2.1.1.1 mais elle ne souhaite pas me donner l'accès à leur base de données, je me retourne donc vers vous pour avoir quelques conseils/directions à me donner afin de faire cohabiter 2 exemplaires d'OCS sur un même réseau.

L'agent redescend avec un .bat depuis une GPO, j'imagine qu'il ne serait pas judicieux de déployer une 2nd fois l'agent (en version 2.1.1.3) sur les postes.

Apache don't start "Can't locate Apache.pm"

Hi,

I have installed an Ocsinventory in a CentOs 7.2. Beyond yum perl package doesn't exist in this release, Apache don't start after include "z-ocsinventory-server.conf" and "ocsinventory-reports.conf" in my httpd.conf. The file error.log of httpd as two lines : 

Can't locate Apache/Ocsinventory/Plugins/Apache.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/local/lib64/perl5 /usr/local/share/perl5 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib64/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 . /opt/applis/httpd) at (eval 13) line 2.\n

Can't load Perl module Apache::Ocsinventory::Plugins::Apache for server srv-ocs.clinique.local:0, exiting...

Folder "/etc/ocsinventory-server" exist with "plugins" and "perl" folders, but without any files.

In my Ocs_server_setup.log, only two lines are on error :

Checking for Apache2::SOAP PERL module
Unsupported version of mod_perl at /root/perl5/lib/perl5/SOAP/Transport/HTTP2.pm line 85.
Compilation failed in require.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted.
User choose to continue setup without PERL module SOAP::Apache2

Somebody can help me? 

I have CentOs 7.2, Php 5.6.3, httpd 2.4.20, mod_perl 2.0.9

Mise à jour agents OCS 4.0.6.1 > 2.1.1.3

Bonjour à tous,

Je viens de déployer un nouveau server OCS sur mon parc informatique, et je voudrais savoir savoir s'il est possible de déployer la dernière version des agents OCS sans avoir a désinstaller celle installée sur tout les postes du domaine ..

Je voudrais faire ce déploiement par GPO, en utilisant le packager d'OCS, et ma question est la suivante :

Quels paramètres dois je spécifier lorsque je lance le packager dans le champ "Commande line option" ? J'ai bien vu une liste d'options (/NP /INSTALL /SERVER=XXX.XXX.... ), dans laquelle j'ai remarqué l'option /UPGRADE, mais dois je passer ce paramètre directement dans le packager ou dans la GPO après avoir créer mon package ?

Si je ne suis pas clair, merci de me le faire savoir, j'essayerais de reformuler !

Virtual network interface

Hi

We have deployed ~900 computers on our network and we are facing an odd bug.
Some, but not all, of our computers have several network adapters where one of them is real and the others are virtual adapters. These virtual adapters seem to get the same virtual IP given by Windows on the range of 169.254.x.x along the same MAC for those adapters. But the real network card have a correct IP and MAC.

On the main page of our server those computers appear with the wrong IP (those 169.254.x.x windows given IPs) instead of the real IP they should show.
What can we do to fix it?

The wrong IPs seems to be saved on HARDWARE.IPADDR while the true IPs are always on HARDWARE.IPSRC.
Should we exchange those values on "Apache/Ocsinventory/Server/Inventory/Update/Hardware.pm"?

Any help would be gladly appreciated.
