Clients does not contact the OCS server

Good morning, some computers not contacted the OCS server.

this computer is recorded only when you install the Agent.

An error appears when I upgrade OCS server from version 2.1.1 to 2.2

When I begin upgrading OCS server from version 2.1.1 to 2.2 by running "setup.sh" script in the new server package, & after answering the prompted questions, an error appears to me:

when I press 'y' for Yes, it continues then abords upgrading and displaying this error:

Computers disappear from OCS Reports + Windows Agent communication error

Hello all.

I have a weird issue with Windows Agent.

[Configuration] We have in an Active Directory :

- an OCS Server 2.1.2 installed with xampp on a Windows Server 2012 R2 ;

- OCS Windows Agent 2.1.1.1 (also tried with Agent 2.1.1.3 with no change about the problem), installed as a Windows service, on many clients workstations with Windows XP, 7 and 10 Professional.

Deployment was lastly made by OCSNG Agent Deploy Tool 2.1.0.2, with success.

[Problem] Inventory doesn't work for several computers, whatever they have Windows 7 or 10, 32 or 64 bits.

They don't appear in the OCS Reports console as inventoried. Yet I see them in ipdiscover as non identified devices.

The strange thing is that computer appear in Reports after the deployment, with the /NOW option.

And I can make them appear, starting manually OCSInventory.exe on the machine.

But these computers disappear from OCS Reports if we launch the console like 1 hour or 2 hours, sometimes more, after that. And they never come back in the inventoried, even 1 week later.

[Debug] I found in the Windows log the error :

Event 20, OCS Inventory Service

Service encounter error <OCS Inventory NG Agent encounter an error (exit code is 4 => Failed to talk with Communication Server)>.

But it doesn't explain why inventory works when the agent is started manually?

Installation error. Please, need your help

Hello everyone. First of all to thank everyone for the help they can offer.

I'm trying to set up a clean installation of OCS server but the assistant shows me the following error and not how to fix it. I have tried everything but have no more options:

Comment installer deux agents sur un même PC

Bonjour,

Est-il possible d'installer deux agents sur un même PC?

En effet, un agent est déployé via GPO, par les admins de la foret AD à laquelle j'appartiens. Je n'ai aucun accès au serveur.

Je souhaite preparer un serveur sur lequel je disposerai des droits dans mon OU. Cependant je me rends compte que seven entreprise 32bits n'accepte pas de faire tourner deux agents.

Y aurait il un moyen d'avoir mon propre agent qui renvoi les infos sur mon serveur tout en préservant l'agent dont je ne dispose pas des droits?

OCS Reports 403 after Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

Hello,

I Upgraded my OCS server to latest Ubuntu LTS (16.04) and now I get this error message.

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /ocsreports/ on this server.

What should I check?

Server is running version 2.0.5 and when I tried to Upgrade to OCS 2.2 I got this error when the installation asked me about the apache daemon,

"AHH00526: Syntax error on line 74 of /etc/apache2/apache2.conf:

Invalid Muted directory in argument file:$ APACHE_LOCK_DI

So I guess there is issue with apache?

I would like to have the version 2.0.5 working or update to 2.2.

EDIT, I think the 403 error is now solved, I changed Alias path from this file /etc/apache2/sites-available/000-default.conf

Path was Alias /ocsreports /usr/share/ocs-inventory-reports and I changed it to Alias /ocsreports /usr/share/ocs-inventory-reports/ocsreports does this even make any sense?

L'agent OCS pour windows ne remonte rien au serveur

bonjour,

Je rencontre un problème pour faire remonter les données de mon client windows jusqu'à mon serveur ocs sous debian que j'ai créé dans le cadre d'un projet en école

J'ai plusieurs "piste" tout d'abord le répertoir à cibler lors de l'installation de l'agent, faut t'il cibler le répertoir OCS à la racine ou un répertoire en particulier(  http://192.168.1.120/OCS_UNIX_SERVER dans mon cas) ou un dossier en particulier comme http://192.168.1.120/OCS_UNIX_SERVER/ocsreports)

De plus lorsque je me rends dans les log error de mon serveur apache , je constate qu'à l'heure ou j'ai executé l'agent OCS, j'ai bien une erreur venant de l'IP du client windows avec l'agent OCS disant "Attempt to serve directory: /var/www/OCS_UNIX_SERVER"

Voila j'ai essayé d'être le plus clair possible excusez moi si ça n'est pas le cas  j'attend vos réponse merci :)

I want to populate aditional information from OCS client to  OCS server.

The idea is that I out some XML file with this content:

Attempt reinstall when exit code != 0

Is there a way to tell OCS to re-attempt an installation, when the previous attempt failed? I have packages that cannot be installed under certain conditions (e.g. Firefox is running). In my script (AutoIt or Bat) I would like to check for these conditions and exit with a specific exit code (e.g. 75, ex_tempfail). The agent should then retry the installation after some period of time.

Is this in any way possible? Right now I have to manually remove the package from the history file (on the agent side) and re-affect it on the server side.

Quand je fais remonter l'inventaire du park informatique, j'ai des doublons qui remontent car j'ai des pc qui ont changés de nom. Je sais pas comment faire pour les supprimer. Il y a t-il une solution?

Server error when client send information

Hey guys !

I've installed OCS on a new virtual Server. I completed the install easily, but now i can't receive data from Client.

In my Client log i found that :

[/NOW] used, so launching "C:\Program Files (x86)\OCS Inventory Agent\ocsinventory.exe"...Result: 4

I checked twice, the Server IP is correct.

In my "error.log" on my Debian Server i can find that :

[Wed Jun 01 09:45:11.527135 2016] [perl:error] [pid 17035] [client 192.168.225.100:51879] Can't call method "do" on an undefined value at /usr/local/share/perl/5.20.2/Apache/Ocsinventory/Server/System.pm line 177.\n

And in the file System.pm we can see :

175:  my $dbh = DBI->connect("DBI:mysql:database=$database;host=$host;port=$port", $user, $password, \%params);

 176:  $dbh->do("SET NAMES 'utf8'") if($dbh && $ENV{'OCS_OPT_UNICODE_SUPPORT'});

177:  $dbh->do("SET sql_mode='NO_AUTO_CREATE_USER,NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION'");

 I'm really lost right now :/ I've already installed OCS on a Debian like... 2 weeks ago for testing, it perfectly worked... And now it don't :/

J'ai installé OCS Server sur une nouvelle machine virtuel. L'installation c'est bien passé, mais je ne peu pas recevoir les données des Clients.

Dans le log du Client je trouve ca :

OCS goes back to login screen on any click

I have one instance of OCS running on a CENTOS 6.4 VM. I can login to the web interface, but if I click on ANYTHING it takes me back to the login screen. It does this for every single user, including the Super Administrator user. I have restored the VM back to a clean snapshot, but after a couple days of working well, it will start this issue again.

Using the injector tool to import into OCS, the status is successful, but no host is created in OCS.
